About Me
I graduated from the University of Wisconsin Stout in December 2013. Here I worked hard to maintain good grades and always did my best in every aspect of my work. Being positive is a very important aspect in life and in my future career. I grew up in the country on a horse farm in a small town called Arcadia. I am the second oldest of four children. I have two sisters and a brother. My family and I are very involved in sports of all kinds. In high school I was in cross-country, took stats for the football team, wrestled, and hold the record in pole vault for track. I also love to hunt, hike, fish, camp, and do anything that involves the outdoors. As an art teacher I love working with all mediums including photography. I take a lot of pictures of my farm and animals.
I have always been interested in art since I was little. My biggest inspiration for becoming an art teacher was my dad. He is the high school art teacher in Arcadia, and so naturally I was always in and around the art classroom and helped him with different art related activities. Because I spent so much of my life in the school with my dad in and out of the art room I fell in love with art, and as I got older I found myself helping other students with their art more than I did working on my own projects, it was then I decided that I was going to be an art teacher. As much as I love art I love being a teacher even more! There is nothing more rewarding than helping students to learn and help them discover their true potential. I love working with students and have had several teaching related experiences with children of all ages while substitute teaching, from college courses, and volunteer work. I was able to accept a job as a long-term elementary art substitute in De Soto, Wisconsin before completing my student teaching. I am very grateful for the community I work in and value the wonderful staff at both Stoddard and Prairie View Elementary School.
